Welcome
Full bore target shooting in North
Yorkshire
established 1946
Pickering Rifle & Pistol club is a well established club originally formed from the
area Home Guard local to Pickering. We shoot over a range which has been in use
since the latter part of the 19th century & was probably established in order to
serve the needs of the Volunteer Rifle Movement of the late Victorian era.
The range lies within the Pickering estate of the Duchy of Lancaster in a secluded
& picturesque wooded valley. 100, 200 & 300 yard distances are shot over from
gravel firing points.
Members shoot most full-bore calibres & disciplines include Target Rifle, F-class &
F/TR Rifle, Military Rifle, Lever Action, Sporting Rifle, Smooth Bore Musket &
Muzzle Loading Pistol.
We have over a hundred members of all ages & ability. Newcomers of any age are
welcome & will be given training & guidance in their chosen discipline. Disabled
access is available.
This is a no frills, friendly club run by it’s members, for it’s members. We offer a
comfortable atmosphere amongst like minded individuals doing what we’re
passionate about: shooting!
